Aurora mayoral candidate Jude Sandvall released his plan togrow small business for the City of Aurora on Thursday among a group of supporters at an event at the Dry Dock Brewing Company. “I felt it important to announce my plan at a successful Aurora small business because our road back to a healthy city is through our small businesses.” Sandvall, himself a small business owner, has outlined a plan that eliminates business licensing fees and the occupationalprivilege tax for new business, thus creating an environment more conducive to the success of all Aurora businesses. The outcome is job creation. “I believe that the future of our city lies in this bottom up approach. We must reduce bureaucratic red tape byremoving layers of regulation in our city and keep taxes and fees on businesses low. This will allow businesses to get up and running faster, help existing businesses to thrive, and attract new businesses to Aurora. The result will be a broad and diverse tax base allowing us to reopen libraries, reopen pools, and rebuild our city.” Sandvall who is the past chair of the city’s business advisory board is running to replace Mayor Ed Tauer who is term limited.Sandvall is the only candidate in the race who is a businessman and has not held elected office.
