Today’s Denver Post had an item about Gaylord that caught my attention:
REPORT SEES HOTEL AS SIPHON
Visit Denver says Aurora’s Gaylord plan will harm the rest of the area.
It’s becoming increasingly clear that Aurora Mayoral candidates Steve Hogan and
Ryan Frazier, supporters of Gaylord, are alone in their thinking that the proposed
1,500 room hotel will bring about economic benefits to the Aurora economy or its’
surrounding areas. Gaylord is being sold to Aurora taxpayers as a ‘economic stimulus
plan’ which will cost taxpayers $300 million dollars. This speculative venture
reminds me of Solyndra, another ‘sound government investment’ that has taxpayers
on the hook for over $500 million. Because of their support for Gaylord, Steve
Hogan and Ryan Frazier have displayed economic ideologies identical to that of our
Federal government, which are responsible for the financial crisis that is destroying
our nation.
I am running for mayor because I know I can be a better steward of our taxpayers’
hard earned money and have a plan to bring health to Aurora’s economy. To learn
